The Lake County Division of Transportation will hold public hearings on Wednesday to get input on two upcoming development projects.
The first meeting, 5-7 p.m. at the Village of Hawthorn Woods Aquatic Center, will consider proposed improvements to the intersection of Gilmer and Midlothian Roads in Hawthorn Woods and unincorporated Lake County. The proposed plan is designed to add safety and mobility to the area by adding traffic signals, a five-lane roadway section, and facilities for cyclists and pedestrians.
The Village of Hawthorn Woods Aquatic Center is located at 94 Midlothian Road in Hawthorn Woods.
At the second meeting, 6-8 p.m. at the Independence Grove Forest Preserve in Libertyville, county transportation officials will present plans for a new bike path along the IL-137 corridor that would connect Libertyville, Green Oaks, Waukegan, and North Chicago. The officials then will accept questions from the audience on the plan.
The Independence Grove Forest Preserve is located at 16400 West Buckley Road in Libertyville.
