Lake County officials approved funding Nov. 10 to hire a design consultant for a construction project on Aptakisic Road.
Lake County Division of Transportation officials said the project will rebuild and widen a 1.2-mile stretch of Aptakisic Road, from Illinois 83 to Buffalo Grove Road, to help relieve traffic congestion.
After passing an engineering and environmental study as well as a public hearing, the project is now set to go through a more detailed design and engineering process.
No timetable has been set for the actual construction.
