Zion City Council to consider tax levy at tonight's meeting

The Zion City Council will hold its regular meeting at 7 p.m. today in City Council Chambers at City Hall, 2828 Sheridan Road.

The meeting will open with a public hearing on the proposed tax levy, followed by a possible vote on the levy later in the meeting.

After approving bills and previous meeting minutes, the council will vote to approve a resurfacing agreement with the Illinois Department of Transportation. The scope of the work will cover projects on 23rd Street, Edina Boulevard and 29th Street.

The city also will vote on issuing $1.4 million in bonds to refund previously issued water and sewer bonds.
