The Highland Park Board of Fire and Police Commissioners held a special meeting Dec. 16 at Highland Park City Hall to address issues relating to incoming and current staff members.
The commissioners were expected to consider next steps in the hiring process of a new police officer and extend the pool of eligible candidates for a Firefighter EMT II position.
The group also planned to acknowledge Commissioner Bruce Dern for his service to the city.
