Gurnee Village Board regular meeting slated for Monday

Gurnee

Citizens can roll up their sleeves for roll call after a 7:00 p.m. call to order for the Gurnee Village Board’s regular meeting on Monday at Gurnee Village Hall, 325 N. O’Plaine Road.

Following the Pledge, the floor will be open for public comment. As the first order of business, the board will approve the Consent Agenda as presented and then perform an omnibus roll call vote for seven items.

The seven items for consideration on the Consent Agenda consist of approval of minutes from the Dec. 21, 2015, meeting; two approvals related to authorizing temporary construction easement between the Central Lake County Joint Action Water Agency (CLCJAWA) and the Village of Gurnee; and the grant of a non-exclusive permanent utility easement to the CLCJAWA on Village property.

All Consent Agenda items are considered routine in nature and will be enacted in one motion. No separate discussion of these items will occur unless a trustee requests it. In such an event, the discussion will be the first item of business after approval of the Consent Agenda.

Also up for omnibus approval is a contract extension for 2016 street sweeping services, a payroll transfer journal for the period ending Dec. 26, 2015, and bills for the period ending on Monday.

Petitions and Communications will consist of three items: presentation of CPR mannequins for the Gurnee Fire Department Citizen CPR Program, courtesy of Raymond Chevrolet and the Warren Township High School football program; approval of a proclamation designating Jan. 18 as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day in the Village of Gurnee; and approval of Mayor Kristina Kovarik’s recommendation to appoint Ty Bonds as chairman of the Civil Service Commission.

A report from Visit Lake County President Maureen Riedy will include an update about the Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Old business is currently unspecified; new business regards approval of two ordinances authorizing website design/hosting services and municipal code utility fees.

The floor will be open for public comment prior to adjournment.
