To handle unexpected costs, Lake Forest, Illinois Fire Chief Jeff Howell tonight presents an open public meeting of the Emergency Telephone System Board (ETSB) at 6:30 in the City Hall Council Chambers, 220 East Deerpath.
Comprised of the Mayor, Aldermen, Police Chief and Deputy Police Chief, and the Fire Chief, the ETSB has run into unanticipated expenditures regarding the city’s siren warning system.
Officials reported that details, available in the Fiscal Year City of Lake Forest ETSB budget, will clarify the difference between the $189,835 allotted in the budget and the $196,897 required for maintenance and repairs, with the required supplemental amount coming to $8,864.76.
Following the open meeting, there will be a motion to close the public meeting. After that, there will be a motion made to approve coverage of the unexpected costs.
Following the ETSB hearing, the regular city council meeting will take place. The City Manager will present remarks on an administrative directive, after which council members will offer comments.
The Public Works Committee will present for approval a bid for service to the Water Treatment Plant following the submission of several bids.
Citizens will have an opportunity to address the city council on non-agenda items.
Items offered for omnibus vote consideration will include: approval of Jan. 19 city council meeting minutes, January expenditures, and funding ratification; tax levy and flood insurance ordinances; and requests for approval of storm sewer work and a three-year agreement for surveying and engineering.
Ordinances to approve a fee schedule for FY 2017 and Traffice Code amendments will be followed by New Business and any additional items for discussion. The meeting will go into executive session, reconvene, and then adjourn.
