Libertyville board to authorize amendments, hear reports
With two opportunities for the public to offer input, the Libertyville board of trustees will meet 8 p.m. Tuesday to move forward on various municipal matters at Village Hall, 118 W. Cook Ave.
The first chance to suggest items not listed on the board’s agenda will immediately follow roll call, with each speaker given up to 3 minutes. Citizens may also address the board during a second time slot after regular business is covered.
A wide gamut of subjects is slated for review at the meeting, from roadwork and landscaping to taxes and licensing. Infrastructure matters will center on pavement crack sealing and marking, while the Historic Preservation Commission will consider an appointment and the Libertyville/Mundelein Historical Society Inc. will work on a lease agreement.
The board plans three amendments, regarding a sunset clause on a telecommunications tax, the municipal code on building code and alcoholic liquor regulations. Additionally, it will move to endorse professional service agreements for water main replacement and road engineering services, both in 2017.
Two reports are scheduled: The Appearance and Review Committee’s update on landscaping at Riva Ridge, originally scheduled for February, will be presented, along with a ZBA report about signage variation concerning BECO Management.
The trustees will take action on a request for a raffle license by the American Cancer Society and consider a resolution to approve an economic incentive agreement with Napleton Ford.
“Petitions & Communications” will constitute time set aside for public comment prior to executive session and adjournment.
