Drive-through, documents dominate Lake Bluff’s board session

Lake Bluff’s board of trustees gathered 7 p.m. Monday at Village Hall to make decisions on municipal code and permitting issues for the community.

The council considered a pair of permit fee waivers for an emergency light installation in the Blair Recreation Center and for tennis court resurfacing in Artesian Park.

Hansa Coffee at 600 Walnut Ave. submitted a request for a special use permit in order to operate its business without the advantage of a drive-through facility and asked for site plan approval. The café’s Lake Bluff location plans to offer coffee, tea, donuts and muffins with an emphasis on local sourcing.

Financial decisions on the table included reallocation of a volume cap pertaining to a bond issue, a pay plan and a comprehensive fee schedule as well as a second reading of an ordinance to adopt a biennial budget for Lake Bluff for Fiscal Year 2016-2017.

Trustees also executed a second reading for an ordinance amending new building, construction and development practices in Lake Bluff, and Village officials, including the president and attorney, presented reports along with trustees prior to executive session and adjournment.

The board of trustees meets at 40 E. Center Ave.
