Lake County’s Law and Judicial Committee will consider resolutions that aim to reduce recidivism and update visitation regulations during its next meeting at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Lake County Courthouse and Administrative Complex, 18 N. County Street, in Waukegan.

The committee is expected to approve an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) with Waukegan Township to implement a campaign aimed at preventing criminal recidivism. Under the resolution, adult criminal justice programs will be developed to treat social, mental health and behavioral issues that contribute to criminal behavior. The IGA would enable Waukegan Township to administer funds as needed.

The committee also is expected to accept a grant from the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services involving renewal of an IGA for a continued access and visitation program for the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit. The grant requires no matching funds.
