After completing adult mosquito surveillance, in which two additional West Nile virus mosquito samples were located in the northwest portion of Highland Park, the Southlake Mosquito Abatement District conducted a ground-based mosquito-control treatment recently.

To limit any disruption to residents, the treatment was completed after 10 p.m. throughout the affected area.

Those who live within the area treated received an automated phone message to notify them of the planned application. Any resident wishing to receive information on adult mosquito-control efforts and to be notified prior to treatment can register online at slmad.org or call 800-942-2555.
