Eight letter winners return for Vernon Hills, with the girls' tennis program coming off its best-ever record.

The Cougars went 16-5-1 in 2015, which included the program's 13th Prairie Division title in 16 years, head coach Doug Gerber said. Another couple of firsts come this year, as Vernon Hills has joined the Central Suburban League and will host its first sectional meet.

Returning letter winners include juniors Sydney Pacer and Weronika Przybylo, who will be a doubles team for the third year, and seniors Kathy Chen, Ashwini Deshpande, Leah Jacoby, Olivia Jazbutis, Pavani Pandravadak and Jessica Tartakovsky.

WARREN TOWNSHIP

Last season, Warren Township had two doubles teams qualify for the state meet and finished fourth in the Northwest Suburban Conference.

Top returnees include Lily Honnold and Kristina Danos – both state qualifiers in doubles – as well as Zoe Serelis, Britta Johnson, Olivia Chen, Ayusha Ayalur, Marissa Matimore, Abby Oye and Frankie Grimes.

Top newcomers include nationally ranked Sabrina Mella, who will be key in the singles lineup with Ayalur and Grimes, head coach Vince DeSecki said. Other newcomers include Linsy Jante, Ally Kolar, Sruthi Jayanti, Emily Johnson and Courtney Odden.

BOYS' SOCCER
