Rod Drobinski, the Republican candidate for the Illinois House seat in District 62, was endorsed by several key law enforcement organizations last week.

Drobinski received the nod from Lake County Sheriff’s Association President Mark Vice, and the Grayslake-Hainesville Lodge 299, Round Lake Beach and Waukegan Fraternal Orders of Police (FOP).

"We’ve been able to count on Rod as a tough, smart prosecutor who has fought for the victims of crime and helped keep our communities safe," Grayslake-Hainesville FOP President David McNamara said. "With all of the problems facing our state, he's exactly the kind of person we need to clean up Springfield."

Drobinski has served as a Lake County prosecutor for more than 14 years, and is currently a gang and narcotics prosecutor. Drobinski, who comes from a blue-collar background, attended Notre Dame on a scholarship. After graduating from Notre Dame with honors, he went on to Georgetown University for his law degree.

"I'm honored to receive the endorsement of so many colleagues in law enforcement,” Drobinski said. “These men and women risk their lives every day to protect their communities, and as a prosecutor I've enjoyed working with so many of them. As state representative, I will work to make sure they have the support they need to suppress the gang violence spreading out of Chicago and that every child in our district can go to school and play in their neighborhoods that are safe."
