Wildwood Park District Board met June 19.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

I. Roll Call Present: Commissioners Dan Bundalo, Maj Kowalski, David Rupp and Jim Neel.

Absent: Commissioner Anna Nelson

Park District Staff Present: Colleen Broderick, Executive Director.

II. Approval of Agenda

Commissioner Kowalski moved, seconded by Commissioner Neel to approve the Agenda with the correction of adding the Cub Pack and Venturing Crew to the Scout Troop 671 under New Business item A. All in favor, motion carried.

III. Public Comment

A. Letter from Dean Fritz: Included in the Board packet is a letter from Dean Fritz. It was explained that the Park District does not have bylaws that he is requesting and the two Robert's Rules of Order books that he has donated will be kept in the Park District office should a commissioner want to review. A response letter will be sent to Dean Fritz.

Linda Camellino - wants to know who is allowed in the parks, on June 10 at Pebble Beach Park there were cars with no parking stickers, does the Park District allow nonresidents? Director Broderick stated that the park monitors are working on the weekends and randomly throughout the week. The Park District does sell non-resident passes.

IV. Approval of Minutes

Commissioner Kowalski moved, seconded by Commissioner Neel to approve the Minutes of the May 31, 2017 Regular Board Meeting. All in favor, motion carried.

V. Financial Report

Commissioner Bundalo asked about the number of tax payments received. Director Broderick stated three payments have been received however, only one of the payments shows in the May financial reports because the other two were received in June.

VI. Staff Reports

A. Director: Director Broderick asked if the Commissioners would like to participate in the Nation Night Out event. Commissioner Bundalo will be at Pebble Beach park, Commissioner Rupp will be at Willow Point Park, Commissioner Neel will be at Old Plank and Commissioner Nelson will be asked if she will be able to be at Sunset park. Reminder that we will be taking pictures of the Commissioners at the July meeting.

B. Recreation: No additional information.

C. Maintenance: No additional information.

VII. Unfinished Business

A. GLCC Donation: Discussion was held regarding the amount that would be given to GLCC and the amount that the Park District would keep to maintain the water at Boulder Park and Lake Shore Drive Park. Commissioner Rupp informed the Board of the last GLCC meeting and expressed his concern that the Park District areas look very bad but the other side of the lake is in pristine condition. Commissioner Kowalski moved, seconded by Commissioner Rupp to increase the donation to the GLCC to $7,700. All in favor, motion carried. Commissioner Kowalski moved, seconded by Commissioner Neel that the Park District will contract with the company that has the lowest quote among two quotes to treat the areas at Boulder Park and Lake Shore Drive Park. All in favor, motion carried.

B. Donated Tree at Pebble Beach Park: After discussion, it was decided to leave the donated tree where it was planted at Pebble Beach Park.

VIII. New Business

Α. Appoint Scout Troop 671, Cub Pack and Venturing Crew Representative: Commissioner Kowalski moved, seconded by Commissioner Rupp to appoint Richard Pavletic to represent Scout Troop 671, Cub Pack and Venturing Crew. All in favor, motion carried.

B. Prevailing Wage: Commissioner Kowalski moved, seconded by Commissioner Rupp to approve the Prevailing Wage for 2017. All in favor, motion carried.

C. Pier Removal at Pebble Beach Park: After discussion, it was decided to continue to remove the pier at Pebble Beach Park in the fall and reinstall in the spring.

D. Boat Ramp Usage - Non-Residents: The Park District has been allowing nonresidents to be let on to use the boat ramps at the beginning of summer and removal at the end of the summer. The Board is agreeable to continue this process.

E. Committee Meetings - Monthly or As Needed: Commissioner Rupp moved to have only one meeting per month and have the Committee of the Whole meeting only as needed. Motion failed due to lack of a second.

IX. Adjournment: Commissioner Kowalski motioned, second by Commissioner Neel to adjourn the Regular Board Meeting at 8:01pm.
