An eight-grader at St. Anne Parish School in Barrington has heard the music calling again.
Austin Tuerck has been selected to represent the school in the Illinois Music Education Association District 7 Band Festival in November. This will be Austin's second year in the festival. He was chosen from among hundreds of students from the Lake/Northern Cook/Eastern McHenry County area, according to the school.
Boasting more than 3,500 members, IMEA offers high-quality music education for all learners. The nonprofit association is the largest fine arts education organization in Illinois.
Tuerck auditioned in September.
