Analysis: Mundelein pays $2.59 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Mundelein Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 72 percent of the $1,812,608 the Mundelein Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $2.59 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Lake County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Mundelein contributed $1,305,730 to the fund, which saw a $115,761 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $503,875, or 27.8 percent, in 2016. Another $3,003 came from other unspecified sources.
