Analysis: Zion pays $3.08 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Zion Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 75.5 percent of the $1,770,332 the Zion Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $3.08 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Lake County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Zion contributed $1,337,424 to the fund, which saw a $62,482 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $432,908, or 24.5 percent, in 2018.
