The Argo Community is being updated on the ongoing investigation into potential misuse of school district funds by the D217 Board of Education President. The investigation, which was initially communicated on May 21, involves a thorough review of district finances, including credit card transactions.

Meaden & Moore, LLP, an independent auditing firm, has been engaged to conduct this review. Additionally, an external law firm has been retained to provide legal oversight and assist in strengthening internal safeguards.

According to the latest update, Meaden & Moore are nearing the end of their financial records review. In the coming weeks, Akerman, LLP, the law firm hired by the Board, will begin conducting interviews. Findings from these investigations are expected to be presented to the Board in September. However, it is noted that this timeline may change as the scope of the review evolves.

The Board President reaffirmed a commitment to transparency and accountability throughout this process and promised continued updates at significant milestones. Community members with questions or concerns can contact him at jgrenier@argohs.net.
