The City of Batavia Police Department announced on social media that aggressive speeding poses significant risks to all road users.

According to the department, “This speed reading isn’t just a number, it represents a serious risk to everyone on the road. Driving at extreme speeds can lead to: Severe crashes with life-altering or fatal injuries; Loss of vehicle control, especially in traffic or changing road conditions; Longer stopping distances, making it nearly impossible to react in time; Criminal charges, heavy fines, and license suspension; Higher insurance costs that can follow you for years. No destination is worth risking your life or someone else’s.”

The department said its officers will continue proactive enforcement efforts aimed at holding dangerous drivers accountable and maintaining community safety. The statement highlighted Officer Lamb’s recent actions in addressing aggressive speeding behavior.

“Kudos to Batavia Officer Lamb for finding and stopping this dangerous behavior – the roads are safer thanks to his dedication and quick action. We appreciate Officer Lamb’s vigilance and professionalism in keeping our streets safe,” the department said.

More information about this announcement is available according to the official roster page.
