Families gathered in the Elmwood library on May 5 to mark the approaching end of the school year and celebrate a year of achievements. The event included tacos, conversation, and a visit from Superintendent Dr. Lawson, offering an opportunity for families and staff to connect as a school community.
The gathering aimed to recognize accomplishments within Elmwood Elementary School and reinforce ties among students, parents, teachers, and administrators. The celebration reflected the broader efforts of Zion Elementary School District 6 to engage its diverse community across multiple schools in Lake County. Beulah Park Elementary School, East Elementary School, Elmwood Elementary School, Lakeview School, Shiloh Park Elementary School, West Elementary School, and Zion Central Middle School are all represented in this school district,according to the Illinois Report Card.
Zion Elementary School District 6 serves grades pre-kindergarten through eighth grade with an enrollment of 2,483 students during the 2019-2020 academic year.
