A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was submitted to the Office of Lincolnshire Village President on June 18, 2025. The request seeks access to public records concerning legal services provided to the village. Specifically, the Lake County Gazette has requested copies of all contracts with law firms associated with the village and all invoices submitted by these law firms over the past six months.

The request emphasizes the importance of transparency in governmental affairs and highlights the role of media organizations in holding public institutions accountable. As a media professional, we have requested that this information be provided in electronic format and have also sought a fee waiver based on our status as members of the press.

Additionally, it is noted that the requester is affiliated with The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy, a non-profit organization dedicated to investigating state and federal governmental agencies through FOIA and Sunshine Laws. More information about this organization can be found on their website.

We look forward to receiving this information in an electronic format as it will greatly aid in our reporting efforts. As always, we remain open for any questions or clarifications regarding this request.
