The Granite City High School Library has been selected as one of 26 school libraries in Illinois to receive a $2,000 grant aimed at updating its book collection. The Feed Your Need Grant, which is awarded annually on a competitive basis across the state, comes from the Association of Illinois School Librarians and the Library Book Selection Service Endowment Fund. The funds are designated for the purchase of books and e-books.

“I’m honored to accept this grant award that will help give our GCHS library biographies section a much needed update,” said GCHS Library/Media Center Specialist Jennifer Connolly. “We can’t wait to order books about people who kids find interesting!”

The Feed Your Need Grant provides librarians with the opportunity to improve sections of their collections that are outdated or do not meet curricular standards.
