The city of Highwood is preparing for a weekend filled with festivities as it hosts the annual Highwood Days and Taste of Highwood event. Scheduled from Thursday, July 17 to Sunday, July 20, 2025, the event will take place at the Metra Station Parking Lot in Highwood.

Highwood Days promises carnival rides, games, and live entertainment throughout the weekend. This festival is noted as the city’s oldest and is a popular attraction for families and individuals seeking fun activities.

The Taste of Highwood will run from Friday, July 18 to Sunday, July 20. Attendees can enjoy dishes from local restaurants, food trucks, and specialty vendors while listening to live music performances by local bands.

On Saturday, July 19 at 9:00 AM, participants can join the Highwood 5K Family Fun Run, Walk & Stroll. The route will pass through Downtown Highwood and Fort Sheridan. Proceeds from this year’s event will support Josselyn, a nonprofit community center focused on mental health care in Lake and Cook County.
