Former Glenbrook North High School standout Nolan Girard’s current squad, the Illinois State Redbirds, suffered a 13-3 defeat against the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders in an NCAA Division I baseball matchup held Friday, Feb. 27, at 3 p.m.

The contest was played at Reese Smith Jr Field and marked the teams’ first meeting this season.

Girard pitched 2.2 innings, allowing two earned runs and issuing one walk.

The Redbirds are set to play their next game Saturday, Feb. 28, at 1 p.m. at Reese Smith Jr Field, again facing the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders.
