The Lake Bluff Library announced on March 31 that it will no longer offer license plate renewal services. The decision comes after the library’s service provider ended the program due to financial difficulties.

This change affects community members who have used the library as a location for renewing their vehicle license plates. The library is directing users to seek alternative options through the Illinois Secretary of State website, where other renewal locations and online services are available.

In its announcement, the library said, “We appreciate your understanding as this change takes effect and encourage you to watch our website for announcements about exciting new services and resources coming in the near future!”

The update signals a shift in available public services at the Lake Bluff Library. While license plate renewals will no longer be handled at this location, officials say they are working on introducing new offerings for patrons soon.
