Several recycling events are scheduled in Lake County and Wauconda, according to the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County (SWALCO). The events will feature various collection and learning opportunities for residents.

The calendar includes Household Chemical Waste (HCW) drop-off days, holiday recycling drives, garden learning sessions, and a “Shoes, Shred & Seeds” event organized by SWALCO in partnership with the Village of Wauconda. These initiatives aim to promote responsible disposal and recycling practices within the community.

At the Holiday Reuse & Recycling Event, organizers will accept a range of items such as holiday lights, both new and gently used leashes for cats and dogs, pet treats, new or gently used pet toys, monetary donations, food pantry contributions, and confidential documents for shredding.

Residents interested in staying informed about future activities can subscribe to SWALCO’s newsletter called “The SWALCO Scoop”.
