Andy Dalkin, Lake County Board candidate, said he has a strong background in law enforcement from his time as Cook County State’s Attorney and overseeing the Chicago Police Department. Dalkin was on a recent episode of the Lake Forest podcast.
“I grew up most of my life in Cook County,” said Dalkin on the Lake Forest podcast. “I was the Cook County State’s Attorney for over 20 years. I did civilian oversight of the Chicago Police Department for about five years as a supervisor. Now I represent police officers, represent a union that represents police officers in the sergeants, captains, and lieutenants in Chicago, Waukegan Police Department, Lake County correctional officers.”
“I’ve got a very strong background in law enforcement,” said Dalkin. “As a state attorney, I learned the importance of public service. When my wife and I moved here to Lake County, I wanted to continue that service. I felt that doing something local, the county board, where I can actually have an impact on the local and the local lives of the people that live here.
