Lake County Transition Market offers job experience for local young adults

Young adults from 10 Lake County high schools will participate in the Lake County Transition Market, an event aimed at providing real-world job experience. The market is scheduled for Friday, November 7, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at The Chapel in Mundelein.

The event will feature district businesses created and run by young adults ages 18-22. Among these is the Young Adult Center’s “We Dip, You Dip!” business. Organizers say the market gives students an opportunity to build confidence, independence, and skills for their future careers.

Lake Zurich Community Unit School District 95 is one of the districts represented at the event. The district includes several schools such as Isaac Fox Elementary School and Lake Zurich High School. According to state data, Lake Zurich Community Unit School District 95 has a diverse student population with approximately 78.5 percent White students, along with Black, Hispanic, and Asian students making up the remainder (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/). In terms of spending, the district spent nearly $25,000 per student in 2020 (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/).

The Transition Market is open to the public and aims to support local transition businesses while giving young adults practical work experience.
