The Village announced on March 21 that leaf vacuuming will begin the week of March 30, with trucks starting curbside collection on Monday. Residents are advised to rake only leaves within five feet of the curb and avoid mixing in yard waste such as grass clippings.
This update is important for residents preparing their yards for spring, as it outlines when and how leaves will be collected. The guidance also aims to ensure efficient pickup by recommending that leaves be kept away from mailbox posts.
According to the announcement, seasonal compostables and yard waste pickup will start on Wednesday, April 1. This service coincides with the regular Wednesday refuse collection schedule. The following week, village-wide pickups for both Tuesday and Wednesday will resume.
Residents are reminded not to combine other types of yard waste with their leaves to help streamline the process. Keeping piles clear of obstacles like mailbox posts can further speed up collection efforts.
The return of these services marks a transition into spring maintenance routines for the community.
