LFHS announces student Adler Schlacher to attend the University of Colorado Boulder

Lake Forest Community High School District 115 announced that Adler Schlacher will continue his academic journey at the University of Colorado Boulder.

Schlacher plans to major in Psychology on a pre-med track, combining his interest in science with his goal of helping others. He expressed excitement about the academic and outdoor opportunities at the university, as well as looking forward to building new friendships, exploring Colorado’s scenery, and succeeding in his studies as he begins this next stage of his journey, according to LFHS.

Founded in 1876, the University of Colorado Boulder is Colorado’s flagship public research university and a member of the Association of American Universities. The university has five Nobel Laureates and space instruments on every planet. CU Boulder is committed to academic excellence, sustainability, and student success — all in pursuit of its vision to transform lives and serve a just, sustainable world, according to the University of Colorado Boulder.

Lake Forest High School was founded in 1935 and serves students from Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, and Knollwood. The school emphasizes academic excellence with about 95% of students pursuing higher education. Its culture values mutual respect, collaboration, personal support, and strong ties between students and faculty. It was recognized as a 2021 National Blue Ribbon School and carries the motto “Abeunt Studia in Mores,” or “pursuits become habits,” according to Lake Forest Schools.

Lake Forest Community High School District 115 serves about 1,500 students in grades 9–12 from Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, and Knollwood. The district offers advanced placement courses, electives, athletics, performing arts, clubs, career pathways, social-emotional growth programs, and community service opportunities. More than 95% of its students pursue higher education after graduation. District 115 shares services such as administration and special education with District 67 for efficiency and cost reduction purposes according to Lake Forest Schools.
