Lake Forest Community High School District 115 has announced the recipients of the LFHS Academic and Departmental Awards, acknowledging students for their strong performance and dedication across various subject areas.
According to Lake Forest Community High School District 115, seniors were honored with departmental awards recognizing exceptional achievement in a wide range of subjects. These awards, selected by department staff and instructional directors, covered areas such as Applied Technology, 2D and 3D Art, Business Education, English, Mathematics, Computer Science, New Media, Science, Social Studies, Theater, Wellness, and World Languages including French, Latin, Mandarin, and Spanish. Notable recipients included Elliott Mrowiec, Alice Rayome, Gabriella Heintzelman, and Megan Rocklein. The Fine Arts Wall of Fame also recognized students excelling in art, music, and theater.
In the field of music education at Lake Forest High School District 115, several national awards were presented. Jonathan Hough received the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award; Timotei Dan earned the John Philip Sousa Band Award; and Victoria Garcia de Leaniz Hernandez was given the Regis Toomey Band Award for leadership and musicianship. Choir members Leah Barnes, Siobhan Boyle, and Nora Sharman also received distinguished honors. The Senior Scholar-Athlete Award was awarded to Amelia Pasquesi and Timotei Dan. National Merit Scholarship finalists included Anastasia Belova, Albert Jie; Elizabeth Silvay earned a $2,500 scholarship.
Lake Forest High School was established in 1935 as a public secondary school in Lake Forest, Illinois. It serves grades 9–12 with approximately 95% of its students pursuing higher education. The school emphasizes personalized instruction within a collaborative environment that fosters mutual respect and high expectations while serving the communities of Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, and Knollwood under the motto “Pursuits become habits.”
The district serves around 1,500 students from these communities in grades 9–12. It offers diverse academic programs including advanced placement courses alongside extracurricular activities such as athletics and performing arts. Feeder schools include Deer Path Middle School and Lake Bluff Middle School among others.
