Lincolnshire Prairie View School District 103 has added four new electric school buses to its fleet, made possible by a federal grant and rebates from ComEd. The district announced that it plans to purchase additional electric buses through the same grant program.
According to the district, “Adding electric school buses brings clear benefits to our students and community. These buses help improve air quality by reducing emissions around our schools and neighborhoods. They also support long-term financial savings by lowering fuel and maintenance costs.”
The district also stated, “The savings created by electric buses allow the district to reinvest funds directly back into our schools. This reinvestment supports student learning, classroom resources, and educational programs. Together, these improvements reflect our commitment to sustainability, fiscal responsibility, and providing a healthy environment for students and staff.”
