The Village of Lindenhurst has announced a community art contest as part of its America 250 celebration. The contest invites both students and adults to participate by creating artwork that reflects their interpretation of what America means to them.

This year’s theme is “Red, White, and Blue: What America Means to You.” Participants are encouraged to illustrate their personal vision of the country, including its values, history, symbols, landscapes, and people.

The contest is open to all age groups. Submissions can be made in either physical or digital formats. Those interested can submit their entries online at www.lindenhurstil.org/250artcontest or deliver them in person at Village Hall. The submission period runs from March 6 through April 27, 2026.

Entries will be organized by age category, and multiple winners will be recognized. Organizers say they look forward to seeing the creativity of the community on display during this milestone anniversary.

“We look forward to seeing our community’s creativity on display as we celebrate 250 years of America!” according to the announcement from the Village of Lindenhurst.
