Lindenhurst has been ranked as the fourth safest city in Illinois for 2026, according to a report cited by FOX 32 Chicago. The ranking comes from SafeWise, which analyzed recent crime data and recognized communities with notably low rates of violent crime.

Village officials attributed this recognition to the combined work of the Police Department, municipal staff, and residents. “This recognition reflects the continued efforts of our Police Department, Village staff, and residents to keep our community safe. Being ranked fourth in Illinois highlights the effectiveness of those efforts, and we remain focused on maintaining the safety and quality of life for our residents,” stated village representatives.

The SafeWise report can be accessed for further details about the rankings.
