Literacy event series begins at Zion-Benton Public Library with local school collaboration

mPOWERu, a collaboration between the ZBTHS National Honor Society and the ZESD Youth Leadership Team, launched its first Leading with Literacy event at the Zion-Benton Public Library. The event included activities such as mindfulness, poetry, shared reading, and bookmark-making. Organizers plan to continue the series on the second Tuesday of each month.

The Zion Elementary School District 6 serves several schools in Lake County, including Beulah Park Elementary School, East Elementary School, Elmwood Elementary School, Lakeview School, Shiloh Park Elementary School, West Elementary School, and Zion Central Middle School.
