Mundelein Park & Recreation District has received a $10,000 grant to support the removal of invasive species at Leo Leathers Park and Longmeadow Park. The work funded by this grant was completed in 2025.

The initiative aimed to improve the health of local ecosystems by targeting non-native plants that can disrupt natural habitats. By removing these invasive species, the park district seeks to promote native plant growth and maintain biodiversity within the parks.
