Homeowners in North Chicago faced property tax rates equal to 2.5% of their property’s value in the fourth quarter of 2025—more than 2.9 times above the national average, BlockShopper.com reported.

During the same quarter, the median sales price for a home in North Chicago stood at $225,000, based on the 23 properties sold during that period. The city’s median tax bill in 2025 was $5,730, which amounts to 2.5% of the median home value subject to taxation.
