Ogle County County Facilities, County Security and IT Committee met Dec. 9

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

1. Call Meeting to Order: Chairperson Janes calls the meeting to order at 1:00 pm. Present: Reising, Fox, Miller, Daws, Nordman, and Youman (enters at 1:02 pm). Others Present: Simms, Sheriff Van Vickle, Coroner Cox, IT Assistant Kozovic, Arlene Sangmeister, and Courtney Warren.

2. Approval of Minutes – November 12, 2025: Motion by Nordman to approve, second by Daws. Motion carries.

3. Public Comment: None

4. Coroner Bills & Update:

a. Motion by Nordman to approve bills for $6,828.99 and Reising seconds. Motion carries.

b. Update: Cox updates the committee on numbers for the month.

5. IT Bills & Update:

a. Motion by Nordman to approve bills for $82,790.40 and Youman seconds. Kozovic states included in the bills is the software renewal and printer expenses for probation. Motion carries.

b. Update: None

6. County Facilities:

a. Buildings & Grounds: Motion by Fox to approve bills for $20,130.43 and Miller seconds. Motion carries.

b. Utilities: Nordman motions to approve utility bills totaling $29,668.94 and Daws seconds. Motion carries.

7. Department Claims:

Sheriff: $44,243.16| ECOM: $10,683.63| Corrections: $26,459.70| OEMA: $1,936.51 – Van Vickle reports they are busy and basically fully staffed. Traffic arrests were up significantly this month which is typical this time of year.

8. County Facilities Discussion – Status Report – Comments:

a. LRP Update: Griffin reports the roof project is moving along. They cleared snow yesterday and today and will be installing the product hopefully tomorrow.

b. Storage Building: None

c. Leaking Fire Hydrant – Old Courthouse: None

9.County Security Discussion – Comments: None

10. Closed Session: None

11. Old Business: Youman states we were over budget by $56,000 in Buildings & Grounds this year. He would like to get in front of this for the next budget year. Nordman states there are a number of variances that contributed to that number. She agrees we can do a better job allocating money this year. Youman states this will be a topic in Finance today. Van Vickle states that it is sometimes very difficult for Department Heads to present a budget in June and July.
