Old Plank, a furniture and design studio with decades of experience in Chicago, is preparing to open a new location in Highwood, according to a Feb. 19 announcement from the City.

The move brings a business known for custom craftsmanship and antique restoration into the community. The city said residents may have noticed scaffolding and exterior work at 210 Green Bay Road, which is part of Old Plank’s preparations for its new space.

According to the announcement, exterior renovations are expected to take about three weeks, depending on the extent of repairs needed. The city described Old Plank as offering thoughtfully curated furnishings and highlighted its long history in the region.

“A business with such history and creativity is a welcome addition to our community, and we look forward to Old Plank establishing lasting roots here in Highwood,” the statement said.
