Representatives from BerryDunn presented the results of a Recreation Assessment to the Park Board. The assessment reviewed parks and recreation programs and services to determine community needs and areas for improvement. The analysis included programs based on enrollment, memberships, rentals, drop-in activities, events, and other services.

During the meeting, the Park Board approved Resolution 2025-11. This resolution allows for a contract amendment with W.B. Olson, Inc., as Construction Manager at Risk, for an amount not to exceed $1,504,169.36 to complete the West Ridge Project.

Staff members discussed the Five-Year Capital Plan and went through each line item related to Parks and Facilities. They also reviewed the Ten-Year Funding Model for capital projects.

The District has entered the Analysis Phase of its Master Planning Process Update. Staff are working with aQity, Berry Dunn, and the Lakota Group to examine existing plans, data, and community feedback to guide the Master Plan’s direction. The findings will be shared at a future community meeting.

The City of Highland Park is considering several possible locations for the “Miss Nitro” art sculpture. Options include Brown Park, property next to the Highland Park Library’s East Parcel, and Lincoln Place. The decision involves input from the City, the Cultural Arts Advisory Group, and the Park District.

Updates were provided on construction projects including new facilities and site improvements at West Ridge Park, renovations at Park Fitness’s aquatic center, improvements at Lincoln Park, expansion of the Highland Park Community Nursery School Playground, and work on drainage at Danny Cunniff Park.

The meeting was canceled.
