Rep. Weber Voices His Opposition Toward Looming Assisted Suicide Bill

May 30, 2025

Yesterday, Rep. Weber expressed his opposition to Senate Bill 1950, a piece of legislation that would legalize assisted suicide in Illinois if passed.

“Death is painful – painful for both those who are sick and their families,” said Rep. Weber. “Watching a loved one live out their final days is a horrible experience. But those moments are also among the most important we have together. “

Rep. Weber emphasized the value of life in his remarks, stating, “Life should be cherished, and this bill does all but protect life. As a legislature, our objective should be to create a healthier state, not a destination for death. “
