Residents of Round Lake will soon have a new option for yard waste disposal under the updated Groot Waste Hauling Agreement. Starting mid-March, single-use yard waste stickers will be available for purchase at Village Hall, Ace Hardware on Railroad Avenue, and Jewel-Osco on Rollins Road in Round Lake Beach.

The yard waste program runs from April 1 to November 30. Each sticker costs $3.00 and must be attached to an appropriate container or bag—either metal, plastic, biodegradable paper, or kraft bag. Containers or bags used for yard waste cannot exceed 32 gallons in volume or weigh more than 50 pounds.

Residents who are already enrolled in the limited or unlimited seasonal yard waste programs are reminded to contact Groot at 847-693-2700 if they wish to opt out of their current service. If no action is taken, those services will automatically renew.
