The Highwood City Council will hold its regular meeting at 6 p.m. today in City Council Chambers at City Hall, 17 Highwood Ave.
The council is expected to approve a $1.4 million tax levy, which allocates $832,452 for the city's general fund, $268,533 for police pensions, $238,200 for the library, $92,615 for firefighter pensions and $45,000 for the North Suburban Special Recreation Area.
After voting on the levy and its abatements, the council will vote to approve the city's annual financial report for 2015, vote on continuing its workers' compensation and general liability policies, and authorize a redevelopment contract with 440 G.B.R. LLC for work to be done on city-owned property in downtown Highwood.
