Grayslake residents will be able to register for the 2016 Garbage and Recycling Can Exchange program, beginning Jan 1.
Residents will have three sizes of garbage cans to choose from: a 35 gallon can will cost $15.48 per month, a 65 gallon can will cost $18.57 per month and a 90 gallon can will cost $20.82 per month. Residents interested in swapping their current recycling can for a larger 65 or 96 gallon can can do so for free.
The program is available to residents who want to switch to larger or smaller collection cans.
Residents have until Feb. 15 to register. The actual swapping of cans is scheduled for March, with the fee change following in April.
