John Tannahill was recently named the new president of the Lake County Chiefs of Police Association (LCCPA).
Tannahill has been in charge of public safety for the Lake County Forest Preserves since 2007. County officials said Tannahill has been active in coordinating partnerships with a variety of fire, conservation and police departments during that time, making him well suited to carry out the police association's collaborative mission.
The Lake County Chiefs of Police Association was created to facilitate leadership development among all Lake County police departments and create opportunities for new partnerships and share resources, training and technology.
Tannahill will begin a one year term in his new position in the New Year.
