Police purchases, public utilities and pecuniary procedure will dominate discussion at the city of Highwood’s regular meeting of the City Council 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at City Council Chambers.

Following roll call, minutes from April 8, May 5, June 2 and June 16, 2015, in addition to a Jan. 19 and Committee of the Whole meeting on Jan. 19, 2016, will be approved.

Mayor Charlie Pecaro will announce appointments, followed by a Bill Warrant list review and public input for any items not on the agenda. The mayor will report on Moraine Township’s income tax assistance for low-income taxpayers, followed by reports from committees, the treasurer and the clerk.

Action items include unfinished and new business. In the latter category, there are five requests for consideration on the agenda, including considerations for three ordinances and two motions.

Requested ordinances consist of one variation from the Highwood Appearance Code; salary and compensation for the city of Highwood for FY2016 and borrowing funds from the Public Water Supply Loan program.

Two motions include approval for a standard purchasing policy for the city and authorization for the purchase of cameras for police vehicles, not to exceed $19,500, from Martel Electronics Inc.

The council will move to Executive Session, act on any resulting necessary decisions and adjourn the meeting.
