CROYA board to meet for youth program updates
The Committee Representing Our Young Adults (CROYA) will meet 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. March 8 at 400 Hastings Road in Lake Forest to address regular business and hear department reports.
Committee members will approve minutes and reports, allow visitors a chance for comments and confirm the next scheduled meeting for May 10.
Open to any 7th to 12th graders living in Lake Forest, Lake Bluff or Knollwood, CROYA provides local teens a safe place to gather with friends.
CROYA is student-led and holds weekly meetings of its own in the Student Union at 400 Hastings Road in Lake Forest. No membership fee or sign-up is required to participate. The program is open after school on weekdays from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. as well as in the evenings and on weekends for special programs and events.
As a community-centered program, CROYA strives to provide outreach, service opportunities, peer training and additional resources to local teens, with field trips, dances, music programs and potential job leads.
The organization’s high school executive committee consists of 24 students who meet monthly to plan community service projects, fundraisers and other events.
