BOARD MEETING – JUNE 14, 2016
CALL TO ORDER
The Village of Round Lake Heights Board Meeting was called to order by
Mayor Lumpkins at 7:00 p.m.
PLEDGE OF
ALLEGIANCE The Board said the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.

AUDIENCE COMMENTS
There was nothing to report.
MINUTES The minutes were reviewed by the Board.
MOTION A motion was made by Trustee Walker, Seconded by Trustee Meeks and
unanimously passed to approve the May 10, 2016 Board Meeting minutes;
the May 17, 2016 Committee Meeting minutes; and the June 7, 2016
Committee Meeting minutes.
COLLECTOR’S
REPORT The May 2016 Collector’s Report for the General Fund was
reviewed.
MOTION A motion was made by Trustee Meeks, Seconded by Trustee Walker and
unanimously passed to approve the May 2016 Collector’s Report for the
General Fund.
TREASURER’S
REPORT The Board reviewed the Treasurer’s Report for May 2016.
MOTION A motion was made by Trustee Pekar, Seconded by Trustee Walker
and unanimously passed to approve the May 2016 Treasurer’s Report as
presented.
ADMINISTRATIVE
Approval of the purchase of four replacement banners at approximately $107.00 each.
MOTION A motion was made by Trustee Katzel, Seconded by Trustee Pekar and
unanimously passed to approve the purchase of four replacement banners
at about $107.00 each.
Festival Trustee Katzel reported that Joe Powers is available and Mayor Lumpkins
confirmed we will have Joe Powers and Centerfold as the bands. Mayor
Lumpkins also reported that Chief Roehlk did receive approval for the
village to use the school parking lots during the festival. Transportation to
and from the lots is still be worked out.
Approval of two Park Benches with the engravings of Army, Navy, Airforce, and Marines forapproximately $571.00 each, plus shipping for the Memorial Park.
MOTION A motion was made by Trustee Mahoney, Seconded by Trustee Pekar and
unanimously passed to approve the purchase of the two park benches at
about $571, plus shipping and including the engraving.
CORRESPONDENCE
There was nothing to report.
COMMITTEE
REPORTS
Public Safety Trustee Meeks read a letter from Round Lake Beach Chief of Police David
Hare to our Chief of Police John Roehlk extending sincere appreciation to
Officer Terry Kaminiski for his assistance while off duty May 22, 2016 at
the Walmart in Round Lake Beach.
Trustee Meeks also reported that violations for the month of May were 10
moving, 21 ordinance, 6 non traffic and 3 warnings.
Human Relations There was nothing to report.
Building & Zoning There was nothing to report.
Public Works There was nothing to report.
Administration Finance Committee reviewed the Warrant List and found everything to be
in order.
MOTION A motion was made by Trustee Katzel, Seconded by Trustee Meeks and
unanimously passed to approve the May 2016 warrant list and to pay the
bills.
Solicitor’s Applications
Trustee Pekar presented for approval: Yun Nam of Sky Home
Improvements Inc.; Lucy Jihyun Lee of Sky Home Improvements Inc.;
and Justin Miller of KMK Residential Restorations Inc.
MOTION A motion was made by Trustee Pekar, Seconded by Trustee Katzel and
was passed three to two. Trustee Mahoney and Trustee Walker voted nay.
Ordinances There was nothing to report.
OLD BUSINESS
Great Urban Park Grant
Mayor Lumpkins stated that there were 209 applicants and four received
the grant. Round Lake Heights was not one of the four and did not receive
this grant.
Budget Mayor Lumpkins reiterated that the budget will be ready no later than next
Tuesday. The Board will discuss it at the first committee meeting on July
5
th, 2016. The budget then will be up for approval at the July 12th, 2106
Board meeting. He encouraged all to take the time to review it over the
next few weeks.
House on Pontiac Mayor Lumpkins reported that the contractor is getting ready to finish theinside of the house. It should be ready to be put on the market by the end
of the summer.
Garage Sale There are 69 houses participating this year.
NEW BUSINESS There was nothing to report.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
The Board did not enter into Executive Session.
MOTION A motion was made by Trustee Meeks, Seconded by Trustee Katzel and
unanimously passed to adjourn.
