Waukegan considers payment plan for Sheridan Road project

At a recent meeting, the Waukegan City Council considered approving a payment plan with the state for the Sheridan Road project.

The Waukegan City Council meets at 7:30 p.m. on the first and third Monday of each month at City Hall, 100 N. Martin Luther King Junior Ave.

D. Motion to authorize the proper City Officials to execute a LAND USE PERMIT allowing beach grooming on IDNR property at North Point Marina as required pursuant to a Grant Agreement by and between the State of Illinois

Department of Natural Resources and the City of Waukegan titled “U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Beach Sweeper - Waukegan and Winthrop Harbor, authorized by the City Council in the February 1, 2016 meeting.

E. Approve Halloween Trick or Treat Hours for October 30, 2016 from 2pm-5pm.

F. Motion to authorize the proper City Officials to execute a Professional Services Agreement by and between Delta Institute, an Illinois not-for-profit corporation, and the City of Waukegan, retaining Delta Institute as an independent contractor to serve as a neutral third party facilitator, coordinator and communicator of the Waukegan Waterfront Working Group (WWWG) for a two year period. Funding shall come from a grant to be obtained from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. The Agreement is contingent upon receiving said grant.

XI. ORDINANCES / RESOLUTIONS

A. ORDINANCE - authorize the proper City Officials to adopt an ordinance, modifying Chapter 3, Section 3-44, limiting the maximum number of Class “EE-B” liquor licenses to five.

B. RESOLUTION - Adopt a resolution authorizing the proper City Officials to approve a payment plan by and between the Illinois Department of Transportation and the City of Waukegan relative to the Sheridan Road project for the amount of $1,061,500.17 in three (3) equal payments as follows: $353,833.39 on or before October 1, 2016; $353,833.19 on or before June 1, 2017; and a final payment of $353,833.39 on or before June 1, 2018.
