Police Department

A. Accept bid for the Waukegan Police Department Interior Renovation Project

The Waukegan Police Department respectfully requests authorization to accept the low bid

from the Stuckey Construction Co. for the completion of the interior renovation of the Police

Department for $274,600.00. In addition, the department requests a 10% overage

contingency, for a total not to exceed $302,060.00. Payment for the renovation will be made

from line item 100 607526492.

PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE:

Motion by ____________________ seconded by ____________________ that the Public

Safety Committee recommends to the City Council that the proper city officials be authorized to

accept the low bid from Stuckey Construction Company for the completion of the interior

renovation of the Waukegan Police Department for $274,600.00 and a 10% overage

contingency, for a total not to exceed $302,060.00. Payment for the renovation will be made

from line item 100 607526492.

CITY COUNCIL:

The Public Safety Committee recommends, and I so move, that the proper city officials be

authorized to accept the low bid from Stuckey Construction Company for the completion of the

interior renovation of the Waukegan Police Department for $274,600.00 and a 10% overage

contingency, for a total not to exceed $302,060.00. Payment for the renovation will be made

IV. NEW BUSINESS CONTINUED:

B. Sustained Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) grant approval request

The Waukegan Police Department respectfully requests that the Sustained Traffic

Enforcement Program (STEP) grant be reviewed for committee and city council approval prior

to implementation. The STEP grant is a grant that is funded by the federal government and

administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) for various traffic enforcement

details. The Waukegan Police Department has participated in the IDOT grant program for the

last thirteen (13) years. This year IDOT has awarded the police department a grant in the

amount of $63,204.00. Based on city policy, the grant requires city council approval prior to

implementation.

PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE:

Motion by ____________________ seconded by ____________________ that the Public

Safety Committee recommends to the City Council that the proper city officials approve the

IDOT Sustained Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) grant of $63,204.00.

The Public Safety Committee recommends, and I so move, that the proper city officials

approve the IDOT Sustained Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) grant of $63,204.00.
