Rep. Nick Sauer (R-Lake Barrington) can officially say he's saved taxpayers some cash.
According to Sauer's website, Gov. Bruce Rauner recently signed House Bill 643, which prevents a yearly increase in mileage reimbursement and per-diem pay for the state's elected officials. Sauer sponsored the measure.
“Our neighboring state of Wisconsin just announced another major investment that will create jobs and opportunity for thousands of residents,” Sauer said in a statement. “Our focus should be on doing the same here in Illinois and ensuring every child receives a quality education, so I appreciate the governor signing House Bill 643 and putting Illinoisans ahead of the wallets of politicians.”
